Gautam Kumar, the President of FACT, started the company as a one-man army, building it one block at a time, bit by bit, working part time, while juggling his family life, full time job and organizing his life as a first-generation immigrant in the USA and working towards earning his CPA license. Gautam works meticulously and takes great pride and joy in the service he provides to his clients.

A very well-respected CPA in Southern California and beyond, Gautam is known for his ethical standards of work. He has held many challenging jobs prior to starting his own business. His colorful career path has enriched Gautam’s knowledge of accounting and his ability to handle his own business. He worked with Worldwide Restaurant Concepts, Inc., the parent Company of Sizzler Restaurant (USA), Inc from 2005 to 2007 and was appointed as Controller of Sizzler Restaurant to oversee the accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll and financial statements including audits and SOX compliance. Gautam also worked for five years for The Cheesecake Factory, Incorporated in various management capacities in the financial reporting, payroll and tax departments. Gautam worked for two years for the International House of Pancakes, (IHOP), handling their franchises and new construction accounting. Prior to this, he worked with Investor Business Daily (IBD) in the General ledger department for two years. It was while working with Braverman Codron and Co., a CPA firm, that he completed his CPA license in 1994.Gautam has also worked as a consultant for companies such as Grill Concepts, Inc., Make Store and Mastro’s Restaurants.
Gautam completed his CPA in 1994 and was practicing part time 1994 to 2007. Gautam’s hard work, dedication and honesty paid off. His practice has now swollen from being a one man show to a full-service firm, FACT Professional, with over twenty employees. The firm provides several services under its umbrella, including, but not limited to taxes, bookkeeping services, payroll, tax resolution, back-office accounting, conducting audits and consulting on various projects. Gautam also holds a master’s degree in commerce and a license to practice Chartered Accountancy in India.
Personal:
Gautam is a simple kindhearted man who enjoys his work immensely. When he is not working, Gautam likes to play tennis, ride his motorcycle and go for hikes with friends and family. Gautam relishes the finer things in life, travel and good food being of great importance to him. He is a firm believer in giving back to the community, especially the youth. The firm’s doors are, therefore, always open to interns from local schools and colleges. Donating his time, resources and money for scholarships and other programs in the community gives Gautam great joy. The company of friends and a dinner table where all seats are occupied by his close ones bring a smile to Gautam’s face.

Nupur, popularly known as Super Nupur for how resourceful, fiery, perceptive, ambitious and most of all, charismatic she is. Is every bit super. Having been part of the FACT family and in the industry for now eleven years, Nupur knows her numbers well. She takes a lot of the strategic decisions for the company with a great deal of ease, gathering all the facts, observing keenly, breaking down the problem and then coming up with a workable solution.
Endearingly describing to a keen listener, Nupur talks about how interesting accounting can be. Her favorite example is the story of what reasonable expenses for a teacher (pens pencils rulers) versus an exotic dancer (body glitter, falsies, hair extensions) are. Her excitement in telling her accounting stories clearly shows how much she loves her work.
Nupur enjoys working on improving the processes that are in place at the firm. She yearns to learn how to make things better and takes input from the team for it. The aha moments, where her growth happens with the team are her favorite ones.
Nupur started her work life working a retail job at the mall during the holidays selling personalized mugs. Her confidence is evident in that her favorite song is Confident by Demi Lovato. She sincerely believes that if a movie were made of her life, it would be called:
“Show up Warrior, its time to do the real work.”
She does show up for everyone and believes that there is nothing that cannot be solved.
Personal:
Nupur believes that there is always something to unravel. One is never completely done. And yet, she says in Hindi “Kya nahi Kiya maine “What is there that have not already done?”
Nupurs idea of a perfect vacation is one where she cuts herself off from electronics, spending time in a small town, enjoying the food and the simplicity of the town. A sprinkle of some activities wouldn’t hurt, she says.
Nupur speaks Punjabi, Hindi, Spanish, English and conversational Italian. A travel junkie Nupur has already traveled to over 30 countries, experienced at least 12, if not more, cruises. She has backpacked across India and Sri Lanka solo, experienced adventure sports such as sky diving, bungee jumping, zip lining, hot air balloon rides, ridden a camel and an elephant.
When asked about what more does she wants to do in life, she laughs in her raucous laughter “My bucket list is shrinking.”
She feels most at home on stage, having learned and performed classical Indian, Bollywood and other dance forms for 20 years. Her feet will continue to tap all lifelong.

Ivan, a Senior Tax Accountant in the company, is the head of the tax department. Ivan efficiently, calmly and very smoothly runs the tax department ensuring its seamless operation. He has worked in the industry for over 10 years now, of which 5 plus years have been spent growing with the FACT team.
Ivan migrated to the USA from his homeland Argentina simply because he missed his brothers who had migrated there. It is in the USA that he met his wife, who Ivan considers his best resource to make important life and work-related decisions. “She is a smart woman” in his words.
Although most of the life changes happened in Ivan’s life organically, as per him, he is a go getter a lifelong learner, a fighter and a dreamer. He is aware of the challenges that accompany a migrant’s journey including but not limited to missing home, learning a new language, finding work, and adjusting to a new way of life, just to name a few. Ivan continues his learning, staying focused on education. He has earned his bachelor’s in accounting and has an Associated degree in Economics. Currently, Ivan is laser focused on passing the CPA exam. It is no wonder then that Ivan favorite go to place at work is looking at a Profit and Loss Statement and working on taxes.
A story to tell:
Ivan was really moved by a client who came into the office, still emotional about his wife’s passing, ready to do his wife’s taxes. Even id death taxes must be paid that really bothered him.
Ivan was tickled by the comedy of errors, where a client called in about his taxes for 2020, and when by pure coincidence, Ivan told him his tax is $ 2019 he would not understand and kept arguing that he had already paid his taxes for 2019.
Personal:
Ivan loves to eat pizza, empanadas and Milanese. Give him a jar of parmesan cheese and he can stuff a spoonful into his mouth, but do not put cheese in or on his pasta. He has a love hate relationship with cheese, so he says.
Ivan was named Jorge Ivan Demaria but goes by Ivan. He started his academics attending military school in the hope to be a pilot, competed in the Pan American under 16 judo competition and landed 4th position, then went onto play music in a band with whom he travelled all over the world. He plays the piano quite well. But he started his work delivering newspapers 363 days of the year, with only 3 days off during the year.
Ivan’s perfect idea of a vacation is to be on a clear water beach with his wife, doing nothing but relaxing. Ivan claims he lacks patience, perhaps that’s what he feels, yet the office sees him a soft-spoken man, who would give away his money to his family members if he won the lottery. He speaks fluent Spanish, English and some Italian.
Ivan loves his pets and his bikes. He makes good use of his electric bike in the mountains.
Ivan has does not have a bucket list as he feels he has lived a very full life already. He has goals though, to complete his CPA and to buy property. Someday he would love to live in a big house.

Eric Mendel is in his third year as Office Manager at FACT Professional. He is diligently working on growing the FACT Professional Team as a cohesive unit. Eric brings 5 years of experience in the industry to the firm. The FACT Professional Team is happy to have him as a member of the Leadership Team.
Eric earned his BA in Business Finance form Seton Hal University, finishing Magna Cum Lude while also being a member of their division 1 Men’s Soccer Team.
Eric is a straight shooter, calling it as it is, and does not like to “beat about the bush.”
Eric’s persistence and strictness are annoying to others – however, those are the very habits that make him a successful manager. That, and making processes into a well-oiled machine are his thing. Eric does not like to linger on making important decisions. He would rather find a swift solution in the moment.
Eric admits that the thrill of creating a cohesive and successful team is his favorite part of the job.
Personal:
Fitness is important to Eric. He runs, walks, jogs, plays soccer, tennis, and ice hockey. He loves to cook and spend time creating personalized cutting boards, as well as tackling numerous home improvement projects.
He loves anchovies on his pizza and admits that if there was one food left on this earth it must be sushi.
Eric is a free spirit having no bucket list - he lives in the moment and is constantly working on self-improvement. It is no surprise that his idea of a perfect vacation is to be alone in a cabin in Finland. He is a well-travelled man having journeyed all through the United States, Canada, Europe, and Russia. He tries his best not to be attached to his cell phone.
If he were to win the lottery, he would never announce it. He says he would quit his job, buy a piece of property to house the entire family, and entertain close friends.
His favorite saying is: “You get old so soon and smart so late.”

Uzman Wazeer is a Tax Accountant & Resolution Specialist at FACT Professional Inc. He joined the firm in 2021 during the last semester of his undergraduate term at California State University, Northridge and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Administration.
Currently, his role in the firm consists of filing and preparing corporate and individual tax returns, guiding clients in tax planning, and leading tax resolution cases.
In his analytical approach, Uzman ensures each task is done with precise detail and due diligence. His background and close work within customer relations industries, understanding of Federal and State tax law and guidelines, and extensive experience in taxation allows him to serve his clients in a professional, knowledgeable, and welcoming manner.
Personal
Outside of the office, Uzman enjoys traveling and playing sports; with his favorite teams being Real Madrid CF (soccer) and the Los Angeles Lakers (basketball).
Vandana Kumar

With her soft touch and many years in teaching as well as customer service, Vandana can handle matters and address any client concerns amicably, before they become issues.

Born and raised in India, Vandana migrated to the United States when she was 24. She has been involved with the building of the firm ever since its inception, working off and on, part time and as time permitted. With three master’s degrees to her name, Vandana worked in education for twenty-five years, before she joined FACT full-time as the Client Outreach Specialist.
Vandana keeps in touch with the clients via email, social media and the phone, ensuring that the clients service needs are being fully met. With her soft touch and many years in teaching as well as customer service, Vandana can handle matters and address any client concerns amicably, before they become issues.
Developing and sharing content for social media, as a means for advertising and showcasing the firm to the outside world, also falls within the realm of her responsibilities. Besides this, she also remains the person who motivates the staff by creating in-house reading, walking and other such programs and or organizing staff parties and picnics.
Personal:
Vandana is happy go lucky person who shares joy with one and all by always having a smile to her face. She also enjoys cooking, knitting, gardening and bringing people together to celebrate life in general. Living in the moment is very important to Vandana.
The stage, acting and theater hold a special place in Vandan’s life. Having performed in many one act plays and contested many debate and declamation contests, Vandana is a pro with her magical voice when she is handed a microphone. She is fluent in five languages – Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Sanskrit and English and can manage to comprehend some Spanish.
When she is not at work, Vandana loves to travel with her husband and her two children who mean the world to her. Primarily a homebird Vandana could spend days on end curled up on her favorite couch, reading and or knitting.

Aiesha, the corporate compliance and legal filings specialist, has worked with FACT Professional for now, over 3 years. Wearing myriad caps on her head, her job includes creating companies, assessing the correct business structure for them, amendments, DBAs, name changes and stock transfers for companies. She also registers companies, ensures their licenses and seller permits are in order, she assists clients who need to change their companies from LLCs to S Corps. Reviving corporations that have been suspended also falls within the realm of her duties. Her job duties also include form filing, census reports and BOI reports. She assists clients in closures, ensuring compliance with all paperwork and a clean closure – in that the client and the company do not owe anything.
Aiesha is methodical in how she arrives at big decisions, weighing the pros and cons, then speaking with her mother who she calls “her voice of reason”. She is happy in that she shows up for everyone and can thus be relied upon, but in the process, she does not put herself first. This is something she is working on.
Aiesha likes that she is constantly challenged to learn new things at work. She also likes to work on herself – for self-improvement she likes to paint and draw. Fond of her co-workers she recalls the prank that the office manager played on a staff member by replacing the sugar in the sugar dispenser with salt. The laughter over the salty expression of the employee who sipped salty coffee remains with the office.
Personal: Aiesha is a rare one to find in her times. She has no social media and is not attached to her phone. She cherishes quality time spent with her cats Winter and Hennesy.
If she were to win a lotto, she would only share the good news with her mother and two siblings. She would also share some of the winnings with her family. When she can, she would like to spend time vacationing in Belize, staying with family. That is her second home, she will tell you with a twinkle in her eye. Aiesha finds the idea of going on a sky dive liberating. Someday she will fulfill that dream of hers.

Rick Phillips recently joined the FACT team as a staff accountant. His work entails preparing and reviewing financial statements for clients. In the short time that Rick has been with the company, his passion to do well is evident in his discipline towards his work and his laser focused attention towards it, every moment of the day.
Rick has been a martial artist for over 30 years. He has taught judo, karate and kick boxing for over 25 years. He has fought Japanese Full Contact at the World Kumite Championships in Osaka Japan. Martial arts continue to be his go to place for exercise and fun. He still teaches martial arts for self-improvement, personal growth and loves being a mentor to his students.
It was during his high school years, managing the inventory for a weightlifting equipment manufacturer, that the entrepreneur of that company saw the potential accountant in him and explained the concept of debits and credits to him. Having worked for other firms in accounting positions, he is back in an office setting with a drive to make a better life for his family.
Rick is often irritated by how hard he can be on himself. He laughs and says, “I wonder how I got here”. Truth be told it, is his hard work and being hard on himself that did so.
Personal:
Wholly a family man, Rick loves his girlfriend Rima and their son Brandon dearly. Rick is a logical but emotional decision maker who goes with what the heart feels is right. Spending time at the beach, vacationing with his girlfriend, swimming, relaxing, with no added pressure, merely listening to the waves crashing against the shore would make it a perfect vacation for him.
Rick feels he has a special connection with animals. His dearest possession is, not surprisingly, his English Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Bruno Baby Cakes Junior. He enjoys a variety of cuisines. But Lebanese food is his favorite followed by Mexican food.

From starting as a busser at a resort restaurant he showcased dedication and determination, eventually advancing to become an accountant, a role he held for four additional years. At FACT he meticulously examines client records to ensure accuracy and order in every document and report. He feels fulfilled in his position recognizing the significance of his contributions, to both individuals and businesses.
Calebs academic pursuits mirror his career aspirations. With an associate degree in business under his belt he aims to pursue a bachelor’s and eventually a master’s degree in accounting. His journey at FACT is just commencing, setting the stage for growth and educational advancement.
Beyond his demeanor, Caleb also possesses a sense of humor that adds vibrancy to his character.
He takes pleasure in lightening the atmosphere telling jokes and bringing laughter to his coworkers all while staying dedicated to his duties.
On a level Caleb considers himself a homebody who enjoys playing video games, watching movies and following television shows during his time. However, he also values activities, particularly surfing and connecting with nature on days. His interest in mythology reflects his curiosity and eagerness for exploration; he dreams of visiting Greece to absorb its historical depth. Overall, Calebs life is enriched by his affection for his pets Moose and Sage.
An interesting tidbit about him is that he has a talent for cracking parts of his body—a quirky detail that sparks curiosity and engagement among fellow employees at FACT.

Andrea is the receptionist, at FACT, the voice you hear when you call the office. She is also an admin in training. Her first job was to serve ice cream at an ice cream shop. She is fast approaching her first-year anniversary with FACT professional. Being in customer service, Andrea can talk to many people from various walks of life with immense ease.
Andrea is mature for her short time on earth. When there is a need to arrive at a big decision, she considers all the facets- finances, people getting affected. And more before concluding. A caring person. Andrea constantly works at her self-improvement and professional development by listening to podcasts, self-reflection.
Andrea really enjoys working with others in the office and believes that we at FACT make a fun team. There is never a dull day at FACT as per Andrea.
Personal:
If Andrea were to win the lotto, she would hold onto her prize money and not tell anyone. Shh she would like to keep it a secret. Besides her cell phone, which she protects dearly, and which in her opinion makes life easy, her prized possession is her 3-year-old dog Charlie.

Working patiently and quietly Jack remains extremely focused on the task/job at hand, never letting the surrounding chatter and or giggles of others around him affect his demeanor or his work. The mature-minded Jack that he is, he works on self-improvement by self-reflection, trying not to repeat mistakes and simply believes in moving on.
His favorite part of his job is the problem-solving aspect that he deals with.
Jack started work life by helping an elderly neighbor take out the trash and watching over the kids in his house. From that to bookkeeping in a snap, Jack has risen phenomenally.

If he could be any place else, Jack would like to be in Japan, working in an anime production company. Jack is a man of many talents. He plays the drums,

Tina Sinha, the head of the Payroll Department. She has been with the industry and with FACT, now, for over four years. She is meticulous, methodical and very organized at work. With a degree in Chemistry Honors, Tina has spent time taking care of her family and not spent time on building her career.
She is a simple, humble, unassuming and hardworking person, no wonder that she has risen to the top of the department in a short while.
Tina enjoys her job the most when she can resolve the clients’ concerns. Happy clients make her happy. But she likes to strike a balance so that her family Is never neglected.
Tina can read and write Hindi and English. She asl understands Bengali and Bhojpuri. Here multilingual assets strengthen the FACT team.
Personal:
Tina places her home, her children and husband first. If she were to win the lottery, she would enjoy vacationing with the family for long periods of time, visiting new places and seeing and experiencing new, interesting buildings.
Besides, if lady luck strikes with a lot of money for Tina, she would donate to charity St. Jude’s hospital being close to her heart. She would not tell everyone.

Professional: Dolly works as the Executive Assistant to the CEO of the company. You have probably heard her voice many a times when you call the office. A sharp, organized and extremely positive individual, Dolly is an asset to FACT and that is a fact. A bright beautiful woman, Dolly (as she prefers to be addressed as at work) has had a career path that is just as interesting as her. Dolly holds her own with 2 bachelor’s degrees: in accounting and in Business Management. She spent over a decade as a professional model and fashion blogger. She also holds a life coaching certificate.
Having worked with FACT for over a year now, Dolly is easy to talk to, she rightly describes herself as a confidant, someone that is easy to confide in. It is no surprise then that the favorite part of Dolly’s job is to help calm down upset clients. Changing the temperature of the room is fun she says. Dolly takes self-improvement classes and reads books and or talks with people who have more experience to gain insight on life and wisdom. She believes in prayer and meditation to clear the mind. Her mother is her biggest counsel, one she can trust completely. She enjoys cooking, reading, swimming, yoga, and spending time with loved ones.
Personal:
Dolly’s bucket list includes travelling the world and being happy. She has already travelled to Belgium, France, The Ivory Coast, Congo – which is her home country, and Angola. Dolly has visited over 30 states in the USA. Her ideal vacation is one where she plans nothing and spends time on a tropical beach relaxing, reading, drinking cocktails, eating sea food, and perhaps snacking in her favorite go to strange snack – fruits with salt and chili peppers. Yet if she wins the lotto, she will buy land and build rental properties.
Dolly is fluent in French, English, and Lingala. She also speaks some Swahili and Kikongo (a dialect spoken in Congo). Her first job as an interpreter and tour guide in Congo was translating from French to English for Foreign dignitaries.

Andrew, as head of Billing and Collections at FACT Professional, has been holding one of the most challenging positions in any business. He has been with the company for 4 years For one he lets the clients know what they owe the firm and then reaches out into their pockets to get the money owed to the company for the work done. You may have heard his voice on the other side of the phone while settling your bills.
Andrew is not afraid to set foot outside his comfort zone and experiment with new things. This, coupled with his ability to persistently work hard has led him to success in his career path so far.
Andrew is well liked by his coworkers and the feeling is mutual. For when asked he will happily tell you that his favorite part about getting to work each day is/are his coworkers.
Life is the cumulation of stories during the journey itself. One of Andrew’s favorite work time stories so far has been to identify that one of our clients was the father of his childhood friends from elementary school, in another town. All he asked the client was “Are you Diana’s dad?” and the answer was “Yes.”
Today, as he enjoys the comfort of his office space, he is reminded of the humble beginnings of his work life – working his way up from a barista in college and construction to now having an office job.

Andrew is out and out a family man. Not too long ago, being blessed with a baby girl, his wife and daughter are his most dear possessions in life. If given a choice, he would spend all his time at home with the baby. His idea of a perfect vacation would be to spend time on a lake – perhaps Lake Tahoe. The tender heartedness of Andrew is evident in that when asked what he would do with the large winnings of a lotto if he were to win one, he immediately responds with “Pay off my moms house and buy my family a house as well.”
Andrew was born in Kansas but has travelled to 8 states so far. Although Andrew is not attached to his cell phone at the hip, he does play video games, considering himself to be a gamer. Andrew lives in the moment and would rather not have a bucket list.

Myung, currently a junior accountant with FACT, has been with the firm for a year. You will see her smiling face and hear her energetic voice when you visit the office. With a bachelor’s in finance, Myung sun is a great asset to the firm. An energetic, positive person. Myung sun gets her energy from constantly learning new things. Myung sun’s job entails collecting information from clients, working on their taxes, explaining to them in simple words instead of using complex tax jargon. She then completes the return such that it best suits the client’s needs and is completed correctly. She is a true accountant in that she really likes it when the numbers match.
To make decisions, Myung sun considers herself an overthinker. However, she works on big decision making by talking to everyone, considering the possibilities and then firming up her decision by going with what feels right to her.
Personal:
Myung Sun’s life would not be complete without her pet cats Boo and Tangi. She loves to try new things and has tried ice skating and snowboarding.
Gifted with a bright, likeable personality, It is no wonder that she gets along well with her coworkers.
Myung Sun does not have a bucket list, nor does she believe in having one. She would rather just wake up and feel fulfilled in the here and now, living in the moment. When she can, Myung Sun would really like to have a year long vacation hopping countries.

Bhagyashree, often affectionately known as Shree, is the Head of the Accounting and Sales Tax Department at FACT Professional, with an impressive nine-year tenure at the organization and a total of twelve years in the accounting industry. Holding a master’s degree in commerce (M. Com) from India, Shree’s extensive knowledge and dedicated work make her a vital asset to FACT.
Shree supervises a team of five people, finalizing books for clients, maintaining timeliness for sales taxes and connecting with clients to ensure that they are being serviced well. Beginning her career at a young age, Shree gained valuable experience as a Bookkeeper/Cashier at TATA Motors, quickly becoming one of the senior members in the accounting team.
Known for her methodical decision-making, Shree meticulously assesses situations, values input from her family, and is committed to continuous learning in a friendly work environment. Professionally, Shree aspires to attain the status of a subject matter expert in Corporate accounting practices, dedicated to providing exceptional assistance and support to clients.
On a personal note, she enjoys hiking and aspires to conquer challenging trails. Deeply rooted in her culture and fluent in Marathi, Hindi, and English, Shree’s interests span from Bollywood music to dancing joyfully to both traditional and modern tunes. A man of many talents, Clemente has been working with FACT for now, almost four years. He hails from an accounting family in his home country Argentina. Well equipped with the education needed for this field, Clemente holds a bachelor’s in business administration, a master’s in science, in Taxation. Among other certificates, he is an Enrolled Agent, is a Certified Accepting Agent, and is Certified to complete tax returns in the state of California.
Clemente handles tax preparation, consulting and liaison with the clients. He spends a lot of time training new tax preparers on the team. Clemente, or Clem as the team refers to him, has a keen sense of humor, that helps to keep the office alive. With his laughter and jokes, he can balance client meetings and conversations in a very professional manner.
Clem loves to keep on learning new things and growing from them. His energy to declutter and be organized arrives in spurts, when he finds himself cleaning and organizing his work and home environment.
He started work as a building manager, website developer and the client outreach person all rolled into one before accounting became his field to be in.
Personal:
Clem’s enjoys a good barbeque and or Italian cuisine. He is extremely fond of his family and friends that he left behind, in Argentina. He likes the idea of vacationing in quiet places, perhaps the beach with waves crashing and a few people. Snow boarding is his other go to sport. If possible, Clem would like to stay away from crowded spaces.
Clemente is fluent in Spanish and English. He can understand some Portuguese and Italian. Juggling golf balls and walking on his hands are two of his secret talents.

His finance expertise shines through in the accuracy and thoroughness he brings to each task whether it involves handling ledgers, preparing reports or conducting financial analysis.
